Google introduces a new chat app - Google ALLO

Google had launched the Google Duo app last month. This is the company’s new video calling application, an app that the company had first talked about during Google I/O back in May.

This application was downloaded over 10 million times in just one month, and people have been waiting for the company to release the other app they’ve talked about during Google I/O, an app called Google Allo. That being said, the company has just introduced their new messaging app.

As most of you probably know, Google had confirmed a while back that Hangouts is basically becoming an enterprise tool, and Google Allo and Duo apps are here to take its place in the consumer world. Google has just released the Google Allo app for both Android and iOS, the app is rolling out as we speak, and you can even download it and then install it manually on your device if you’re too eager to wait for the app to become officially available on your device. All you have to do is scroll down and hit the banner below this article. That being said, let’s talk more about Allo, shall we? This application not only comes with Google Assistant integration, but has tons of interesting features which we’ve talked about in the past, but it’s worth mentioning some of them again, of course.

Watch a video introduction of the app below:

The Google Allo comes with the ‘Smart Reply’ feature, a feature which will basically make it a lot easier for you to respond quickly to incoming messages. You can respond with a single tap, you can, for example, send a quick response like ‘OK’ or ‘Yup’, as this feature will suggest responses based on incoming messages. This feature can also suggest responses based on incoming photos, which is quite a handy feature. You can send smaller or larger emojis via Google Allo, or you can draw something real quick and send that to your contact, while there are also more than 25 custom sticker packs for you to use.

The Google Assistant integration is one of the most important features of Google Allo, as it basically allows you to have a conversation with your device. The Google Assistant is here to help you have a more productive conversation, all you have to do is type ‘@google’ in order to bring Google Assistant to play, you can do that at any time, no matter whether you’re in a group chat or would just like to chat with it one-on-one. You can ask Google Assistant a ton of questions and get responses for them, such as traffic reports, sports scores, news, etc. You can even ask it to share a funny YouTube video, or play a game with you.

It is also worth mentioning that Google Allo lets you chat in incognito mode, and that all chats in Google Allo are encrypted using industry’s standard technologies, like the Transport Layer Security (TLS), for example. That is more or less it, as already mentioned, you can install Allo manually if you’re too eager to wait for it to hit your device, simply click on the banner down below, download it and then sideload it on your device.
